Vultures are large birds that eat dead or decaying meat that is why they are called
scavengers. Vultures often live in warm and tropical regions and also the can
be seen in the regions of every continent except Antarctica and Oceania. It plays
a vital role in maintaining health and beauty of our environment. Vultures are
divided into two categories named as Old vultures and new vultures. Old vultures
are found in the regions of Africa, Europe and Asia and new vultures are found
in the warm regions of America.

Vultures have bare
heads. Their feet are big but weak and flat-nailed. Vultures eat many different

generally attack healthy animals, but they mostly kill the wounded or sick. Vast
numbers have been seen upon battlefields. Vultures can remain in flight for hours.
Vultures do not build nests. Instead they lay their eggs in trees, in caves, or
on the ground.
