Among the wild cats, tigers are the heaviest cats. A male tiger measures 13 feet long including a tail and 700 pounds of weight. Female tigers are smaller than the male tiger weighing between 100 and 181 kg. Tigers have thick yellow or reddish fur that acts as a coat for their body which has black stripes. Tigers have approximately 100 stripes on their body. The pattern of the stripes differs with species. Unlike other members of the cat family, Tigers also are having an excellent skill of swimming.

Their diet includes cattles, horses, sheeps, and deer sans goats. Generally tigers will kill domestic animals. They have the capability of killing an ox, cow or a bull.
