Cockroaches are generally considered as the pests and moreover there are over
3500 species living on Earth. Cockroaches can generally be seen in different environments
around the world mostly in the regions of North and south poles. They are mostly
seen in the warmer temperature regions such as House. They prefer to live in warm,
moist places and are more abundant in tropical areas.
There are almost
between 4000 to 7500 species of cockroaches living in this world. Cockroaches
are one of the oldest survival creatures among snakes, bats, spiders and rats.
They have been able to survive because of their rapid reproductive cycles and
adaptability to poisons, environments, and even nuclear bombs. The life cycle
of the cockroach is from egg - nymph - adult.
Some species of cockroaches
have the capability of remaining active for a month without food, some can even
slow down their heart rates and some can stay without air for 40 minutes. Mostly
cockroaches controls the residential areas i.e. homes. They enter in a home through
leaked pipes and small holes. Cockroaches like dark, moist, warm places to live
in.
The kitchen and bathroom fit this description but so do other places
like laundry baskets. They will also live in boxes, paper bags and books. It is
easy to transport them from house to house and even across oceans.
They
are considered as pests, so humans keep them out of reach of their homes by preventing
cockroaches by sealing up any holes and cracks along baseboards, door frames and
windows.
