Camels are huge and fascinating animals. They can be found mostly in desert
of Africa, Arabia, Asia, Australia and the mountains of Australia. Camels are
capable of traveling long distances across the deserts. Camels are very much efficient
in walking on the soft sands that is why camels are known as the "Ship of
Deserts". Camels are having humps on their back where they can store fat.
In case if camels find no food they get energy from hump.
Camels can weigh
from 200 to 600 Kilograms and they also have a tail which is over 51 centimeters
long. Camels have thick fur on their baby who protects them from the sunlight
and eyelashes which protect eyes from sand. Camels have a large mouth with 34
sharp and strong teeths which can be used as a weapon that is why camels have
a cover, covering his mouth so that he could not bite anyone. Camels also have
very strong legs and can run very easily without any problem.
Camels eat
grass, dates, grains such as wheat and oats. Camels store fat in the hump, but
if there is no supply of food and water for several weeks then their hump gets
hang at the one side of the baby. If camels are hungry then their hump starts
shrinking. Camels and humans have been living together over a long time.
Humans make camels to pull ploughs, turn water wheels to irrigate fields, transportation,
clothing and shelter. Many people depend upon camel's milk, wool, meat and hides
for tanning for leather to fulfill their necessities.
